Saint Mary's Glacier Adventure Session

Sydney & Henry’s Glacier Hike Adventure Session in Colorado

LOVE, LORRAINE ADVENTURE WEDDING and ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHERS

Sydney and Henry are two of our newest friends. They live on the road full time, traveling in their converted camper vans, pursuing their passion for animal rescue, and living "the dream". We connected with these two in the summer of 2021 and instantly hit it off. Their kindness is so apparent when you meet them, that it's hard to ignore that their personalities are very much in line with their work.

Sydney lives on the road with her two dogs, Ella & Pearl. She’s an entrepreneur, sharing information about living on the road and pursuing your dreams. She also had a great podcast! — My Solo Road
You can check out more about her and her business here – https://divineontheroad.com/

Henry lives on the road with his dog, Finn. He’s also an entrepreneur and partners with local animal rescues all over the world. If you are interested in his work and want to donate, check out the link here – https://www.patreon.com/keepingfinn

We decided that taking the dogs on a hike was the best way to enjoy some time outdoors, talk more about Vanlife, and take some epic photos together. We chose an accessible hike to a glacier where the dogs could explore and enjoy the water.

For those of you that may not know, Lauren and I lived on the road full time for 3 years before selling our sprinter van during the pandemic to reset and recharge from life on the road. We got an apartment in Denver, but that didn’t last very long! Connecting with Sydney and Henry reminded us why we got on the road in the first place and sparked some awesome conversation about getting back on the road and how valuable it can be.

Why have an Adventure Session?

It’s a fair question, why would you want photos of such an informal event? It’s certainly not a wedding. However, as photographers, we believe that photos of every moment of life can hold a lot of value. Our memory is the only way we have access to all the little moments in our lives. Photographs help us remember and retell these stories, even of the tiniest moments. Most of the time, adventure sessions are a celebration of smaller milestones in life. For example, maybe you are going on a trip somewhere epic! Book an adventure session to document an awesome adventure as part of your trip! Or, maybe it’s time for a surprise proposal! Sometimes adventure sessions are “just because” and that’s perfectly alright, too. You don’t have to have a reason to book an adventure session. The value is in the adventure, enjoying the present moment, and then having photos to always remember that moment in your lives.

What to Consider for Your Adventure Session

When considering having an adventure session in Colorado, it is important to hire a photographer that has experience in the state, or more specifically with the area you want your photographs! A good photographer that has knowledge of the area will offer you (FOR FREE) their expertise on location recommendations. Some photographers even can offer recommendations for your trip! In Colorado, it is important to have an expert on your side in the planning process so that you can avoid unplanned surprises. Weather changes, and sudden road closures can present you with a sticky situation. Local photographers that know the area best will know all about these in advance to help you plan the absolute best possible adventure session. If you’re looking for mild weather without any snow in Colorado, we recommend coming in June up until the end of September. The wildflowers bloom in the summertime! If you’re traveling in other months, that’s perfectly fine. Colorado has so much beauty to show off year round, even in the snowiest of seasons.
