Lauren’s Year

Lessons Learned

Focus on the things you can control. This goes for both Travis and me and our couples! We are implementing mindfulness within our business and encouraging couples to focus less on things that they can’t control and more on what they can control. Once this shift happens, you’ll enjoy every aspect of planning, and be fully present on your elopement day.

Invest in things/people that bring you joy. I invested a lot of my energy in things that brought me joy this year. Reading, traveling, therapy, spending time with inspiring friends, and growing Love, Lorraine alongside Travis. 2023 is going to be a good one and I can’t wait to pick up a few new hobbies along the way.

It’s okay to take time to rest. I used to tell myself that if I wasn’t working my business would fail. This past year has taught me that rest is key to running a successful business and that I need to take time to rest and recharge.

Highlight of the Year

Exploring and photographing our first elopement in Washington. This was my first time visiting Washington and I was in total awe of its beauty. Our clients Katie & Quinn hired us to be a part of their two-day celebration that hit almost every single landscape that Washington has to offer. Washington has a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to be back to explore, hike and photograph many more elopements!

Travis’s Year

Lessons Learned

Slow down and enjoy the ride. This goes for Lauren and I and our couples! We will travel slower next year for our own personal benefit, and spend more time enjoying the places our couples take us. We will also create more space in our timelines for our couples to slow down and enjoy their experiences as well!

Always double check dates, especially when it comes to booking flights. Thanks to our airline for being so accommodating. We had a slight mixup on a flight home after a wedding, so, not a huge deal. Always an adventure!

Heavy and wet snow is no joke. Don’t count on being able to commute safely when heavy (especially wet and heavy) snow is in the forecast.

Highlight of the Year

Hiking in the North Cascades with our clients Katie & Quinn. It was our first time experiencing this magical place. The North Cascades are best known for their steep, jagged mountain tops, alpine lakes, glaciers, and conifer forests, and even though we only had a few hours to explore up here, it was clear that we could spend days, weeks, even months finding new views here. We can’t wait to get back to hike and explore more!

It feels like we say this every year, but 2022 was our best year yet! This past year took us to places we have never photographed before, places we definitely would like to return to, so check out the photos and contact us and let us know if any of these locations fit your elopement day vibe. We are so grateful for all of our 2022 couples who trusted us with their elopement this year. GOALS FOR 2023

Work with our Videographer to offer our clients even more value — We added a new member of the Love, Lorraine Team this year to add more value. Most of 2022 has been spent working alongside Austin our Videographer and learning about his business philosophy and goals. We are so excited to offer Austin’s services to our couples this 2023 season!

Keep Growing, Learning, and Improving — 2022 was the first year Travis and I officially worked together. It was a year of learning and improving as business partners, photographers & service providers. We are stoked to continue to work together and improve many aspects of our business so we can give our couples the best experience possible.

Find Balance in our Personal Lives — We’ve spent the last 5 years living on and off the road, 2023 is all about slowing down and finding balance. As much as we love the road, we want a place that we can come back to. Now that we are engaged and have had many discussions about our dreams and goals, we will be putting more of our efforts into setting and accomplishing our personal goals.

Explore a New Country — Our bucket list of countries to explore is long and we are hoping to cross off a few in 2023. We’ve been considering eloping in one of them. Any guesses?!
