Mystic Hot Springs | Monroe, Utah

We heard about this place thanks to our friends Em and Ian (@litetravels). We decided to make the stop on our way back through SLC and it was well worth it. If you ever have the opportunity to visit this hot spring, we highly recommend it! There are farm animals and dogs on site, facilities (bathrooms and showers) and plenty of tubs to go around. We decided this would be a great spot to take some photos for Staheekum, a brand we are ambassadors for (and that we HIGHLY recommend!). They specialize in slippers, and are currently expanding their inventory to include more outdoor products like bags, scarves and sandals! Visit their website at www.Staheekum.com or find them on Instagram @staheekum.

Valley of Fire State Park & Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, NV

Lauren and I drove past Valley of Fire last year without time to stop. After seeing a few photos, we knew that it was a place we had to make time for. We were lucky to build enough time into our drive to Joshua Tree to stop here! While the park is gorgeous with many unique red rock formations, it does get very hot and very crowded here. It is worth the trip, just be prepared! We enjoyed it here most at sunrise and sunset. If you’re looking for camping, Poverty Flats is free and offers gorgeous views. We spent a couple nights here, and it is one of our favorite campgrounds we have stumbled on this year.

We were lucky to connect with a photographer that was willing to pose for some photos! We also visited Red Rock Canyon and again were lucky enough to find a couple willing to shoot at sunrise. Check out all the photos below!

Joshua Tree Elopement | March 10-15

Last year, we met Jordan and Josh in Joshua Tree for a standard couple session. Little did Jordan know, Josh was planning (with us) to propose in the park, leaving us to capture the moment. That photo shoot can be found here! Fast forward one year and we were back, except this time they were eloping with their closest friends and some family. We are so grateful for these two humans. They have become incredible friends and have supported our business from the moment we met them. This will be an elopement we will never forget! Check out some highlights from our week below.

Southern California

After a week of work in the desert, we decided to cruise to Costa Mesa, CA to visit our friends Ben and Audrey for a few days! Denali had his first beach day, and we even ended one day with dinner in the van and a fire on Huntingon Beach. Before heading north, we made a pit stop at Lake Elsinore and Walker Canyon to see the poppies (Lauren’s favorite flower!).

The Vanlife App Meetup | Santa Barbara County, CA

Without plans to be in the area, Lauren and I didn’t have a ticket to attend the Vanlife App’s first gathering. We were bummed, but reached out to the team in hopes that someone would be unable to attend, leaving us a space! We drove to Ventura without confirmation, hopeful that things would pan out. We spent the night at Madewest Brewing Co, incredible beer and atmosphere. We were lucky to meet a group of people that were intrigued about Vanlife, and spent the night talking with them about our journey, our lifestyle and the Vanlife movement. We even were offered a safe space to spend the night!

The next morning, we received confirmation that we could attend the gathering! We decided to make the drive early and offered to volunteer to help the team setup and through the weekend. Lauren took a bunch of great photos of the event, and we made so many new connections and friends. We are so happy to have been a part of the Vanlife App’s first gathering. We can’t thank the team behind this app enough, and we are so excited to see how this App has a positive impact on our community. Check out The Vanlife App today, and if you’re a nomad on the road, download the app and see for yourself what all the buzz is about!
